MOU between NFA Abuja and NDA Kaduna

Signing of MoU of affiliation between the FFS National Fire Academy and Nigerian Defence Academy.

The Federal Fire Service and Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to run a post graduate course on disaster and risk management.

The General, Federal Fire Service, Mr Joseph Anebi signed for the organisation while the NDA Commandant, Maj.-Gen. Adeniyi Oyebade signed for the institution.

Anebi said it was opportunity for fire service personnel to expand their knowledge and scope in dealing with disasters in the course of their duties.

“Everything we sign now we a going to be prompt and act immediately; the next thing we are expecting is advert from the institution, once it is done our men will apply and get in,” the controller said.

Also, the NDA Commandant said the agreement would help build the capacity of fire service personnel using technology based services for them to have the requisite knowledge to respond more professionally to disasters.

“That is what NDA has brought to the table, so that all the personnel will have a better  understanding of what it takes to run fire service, to understand disaster and rescue so as to respond adequately to ensure that our country is safe.”

Oyebade said the NDA has existing collaboration with the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji and National Defence College, Abuja.

“As I speak to you, I want to assure you that our post graduate school is among the best in the country, we have larger number of students and offer specialised courses that are not available in other institutions.

“Most importantly, in our institution we have standard military discipline and regimentation approach to carrying out necessary duties given to us whether by the military or federal fire service,” Oyebade said.
